Our History

One of the oldest archery clubs in the state, Antler Archers began in 1949 as part of the Heart of Wisconsin Sportsman’s Club. A group of instinctive bowmen broke off from the club in the 1960’s, forming what is now Antler Archers. After several moves, the club purchased 39 acres south of Kellner and in 1984, 8720 Deer Road in Wisconsin Rapids become our permanent home.

A clubhouse was built in 1991 with a bar, kitchen and 14-lane, 20-yard range. An expansion to 40 yards was completed in 2019 to accommodate larger shoots and a winter, indoor 3D league. The 39-acre property also features (2) 20-target 3D courses, a 100-yard practice range and hosts several events each year. Summer, fall and winter leagues are available for members along with open shooting for non-members throughout the year.

In addition to an annual banquet, Antler Archers hosts a venison feed each winter to raise money for organizations and individuals in need. Saturday mornings from January through March will find our members working with area youth to improve their archery skills and help bring the next generation into the sport. We have also worked with many organizations over the years including the Boy Scouts, Kiwanis Club, NASP, Safari Club International and Never Forgotten Honor Flight to raise money and awareness for their causes and are always open to new opportunities.
